I have truly found that owning basics that I want to wear time and again is so much better than owning pieces that are limited in their compatibility with other items in my closet. Solid tank tops are my favorite basics to have for the exact reason that they can be paired or layered with so many other items: jeans, oxfords, shorts, skirts, blazers, cardigans, denim jackets, etc.
